2024 Bathroom Installation Costs: Your Complete Guide

Are you planning a bathroom renovation but puzzled about the costs involved? Knowing the full extent of what a bathroom renovation can cost is crucial to planning your project effectively. Let's explore how much you might expect to pay for a high-quality bathroom installation that includes everything from new pipework to the best materials designed to ensure your new bathroom stands the test of time.

The Reality of a Bathroom Renovation Costs

Bathroom installation costs can vary significantly based on the size of your space and the level of finish you desire. At our company, we pride ourselves on providing complete bathroom renovations that include plastering, tiling, electrical works, painting, new pipework, waste systems, and tanking of walls to prevent water damage. All installations use the highest quality materials, ensuring durability and longevity.

Our Pricing Structure

Unlike most companies, We are happy to be transparent with our pricing. So based on the average costs of our projects from the last 12 months you can see below the standard ranges you can expect to budget for.

  • Small En-Suite or Bathroom (10-15m²): £6,000 - £8,000 (inc VAT)

  • Medium Sized Bathrooms (15m²-20m²): £8,000 - £13,000 (inc VAT)

  • Large Bathrooms (20m²-40m²): £13,000 - £29,000 (inc VAT)

The prices listed are for full installations, excluding the supply of the bathroom suite and tiles.

Why Do Costs Vary?

The cost of a bathroom installation varies depending on several factors:

You may be sitting there with 3 quotes all with very different prices, thinking why are they so different and who should you trust will do the best job in your home.

Firstly we recommend checking if you're comparing apples to apples? or apples to oranges. Depending on how detailed the brief is of what you want doing in your bathroom, different companies can tackle your quote in many different ways.

For example, some companies may cut corners to save money to win the job, or use cheap unskilled labourers for most of the works to keep costs down, but this can have very serious consequences. As installers we have the power to use cheap options or the best products in the market which will last longer and give a better experience. All these factors make a big difference in the cost of the installation.

Other factors can be:-

  • Size of the Bathroom: Larger bathrooms require more materials and labour, which increases the cost.

  • Complexity of Installation: The more features and the higher the quality of materials used, the more labour-intensive and costly the project becomes.

  • Standard of skilled tradesmen: Having more experienced skilled labour does come at a premium but is worth the extra expense to avoid any costly complications and have a smooth ran project.

Managing Your Bathroom Installation Budget

Plan Thoroughly: Good planning is the key to managing costs effectively. Outline all your requirements with your contractor to avoid unexpected expenses.

Tailor Your Choices: Knowing where to allocate your budget can make a significant difference. Choose areas to prioritise high-end materials and features to maximise both functionality and style.

A Note from Craig

We are seeing a rise in bad workmanship in the market at the moment, from having over 6 calls in the last 2 months from very unhappy customers who have been badly let down by a tradesman, This makes me very upset that some people can leave customers in such a horrendous state, ranging from leaks through the ceilings, to horrific tiling and grouting which I'm sure Stevie Wonder could of done a better job at.

I can completely appreciate that you have to work within a budget, but please do spend some time in reviewing your tradesmen, as it could potentially cost thousands more if you pick the wrong person to carry out your project.

Undergoing a full bathroom renovation can be stressful, without being let down by the wrong fitter and having issues and low quality of finishes.

What advice would I give to avoid getting a bad tradesmen?

  • Research everywhere possible online to find all their reviews,

  • Confirm they have insurance in place for if anything did go wrong then you're covered,

  • Do they have all the necessary skills required? some plumbers try tiling for example, ensure the company has the whole skillset to undergo the full installation so no aspect can be sub par.

  • Are they easy to get hold of?

  • Do they take the time to really help you during the quoting stage?
